The secret is out, and I'm very happy to report that the feedback so far is quite positive!
What's that? Right, right... well, as Carl posted today, we've been real quiet on the blogging front because we've been incredibly busy. (That and delicious continues to refuse to publish on my blog. Why? Don't know... and wow, that's frustrating.)
So, busy on what? Well, some things we still can't mention (NDAs and contracts, don't ya know?), but the major news is...
Carl and I have created a new company, which we're calling Information Architected, Inc. (formally), or Information Architected, more likely. The logo looks vaguely Escher-esque, which works just fine for me! After 14 years of working with Carl, I didn't even know we were both Escher admirers, until our designer crafted this for us.
The premise?
"Information Architected is a consultancy focused on the intelligent use of content, knowledge and processes to drive innovation and thrive in a digital world."
Would love to hear what you think of the name, look, and basic premise. Good? Great? Eh? Pbtht?
I think it works pretty darn well (came to me in a dream, or at least late at night, I'll take what I can get), if I do say so myself.
Hope it sounds real, as it is absolutely possible to kick butt and solve problems (ESPECIALLY in today's economy) by putting in place an attention to the systems that make your employees more productive, your customers better able to find what they want to buy, streamline your ability to launch new products and services, orchestrate your partners and suppliers, get a grip on who has what contract and where the status stands, and well... quite a bit.
I don't believe the world has even begun to really tap this capability, but I'm doing my part to raise awareness and cut through the muck to help YOU and YOUR ORGANIZATION to Get Things Done.
Options abound folks! The ability to do this FOR REAL and WELL is less expensive now than ever before. Honestly, unless your company is teeny tiny, there's no good reason not to be using at least the CORE of content, knowledge and process systems.
Having worked with end-users and vendors over the last (wow) 14 years (how'd that happen?), what comes back again and again is that (a) people buy technology before they know why they did, and, (b) that they're really not stopping to think "What CAN our information do for us?" (aside from clog the works, delay processes, confuse new employees, and on and on).
Of course there are some who understood the problem 5-10 years ago, put systems in place, and let's just say those systems have probably not aged gracefully.
These are all issues that can be overcome, mind you. But getting and staying on track? Ah, that's the rub!
So, with that said. Take a look around the new site for Information Architected - it's not "completely done," but then again folks, that's life with digital content. Tomorrow it will be "more done" and the day after that even more. Agile - it's a way of life!
If you find anything that confuses, entices, makes you chortle, or engages you at all, please, let me know what you think, and together, I'd be willing to bet we can help in your business. And if we can't, well, there are 1,500+ people in my LinkedIn network, and I'd be happy to help steer you to someone else who can. There's only 24 hours in the day, and two of us in this new business, after all! :)
So, the question is... What is your Information Architected for?
